BP Buys BDD

And now for some real inside baseball, the company that owns Baseball Prospectus -- Prospectus Entertainment Ventures, Inc. -- has purchased Baseball Digest Daily.

If I had to guess, I'd say that this was inspired by Nate Silver's need for more computers and galley slaves in the runup to the election. He will be the master of us all one day, you know.

(thanks to Pete Toms for the heads up)

Mozel tov to Joe Hamrahi, a really nice guy.

I second that. Joe and I exchanged some emails early in the year about me maybe contributing some stuff to BDD. I was (a) rude; and (b) slow to respond to emails; and (c) ultimately declined, which for any of you who know me well is par for the course. Joe, in contrast, was way nicer than anyone should have been with a schmuck like me, and I'm happy for him about this deal.

This is terrible news.

G-Man: I love to have some muck to rake. Tell me: why is this terrible?

I for one welcome our sabermetric overlords.
