For his first prominent business-side hire, Nolan Ryan went to a place he knows
well: The National Baseball Hall of Fame.
Former Hall president Dale Petroskey will handle the Rangers' marketing and community development efforts. In other words, he'll try to build the fan base.
Petroskey resigned from the Hall in March amid allegations he "failed to exercise proper fiduciary responsibility," according to the Hall of Fame's press release.
UPDATE: Much more thorough story here.

I don't know about you, but I'm always in the market to hire someone who as been identified as failing "to exercise proper fiduciary responsibility."
Has Nolan lost a little bit on the mental fastball?
This has the smell of "good ol' boys' network" all over it. The only reason he didn't get a cushy federal gov job that he was unqualified for is because Bush will be out in 8 months...
