The Psyche of a Mets Fan

This morning I wrote something in the recaps about how Mets fans tend to freak out a bit too much on a game-by-game basis. About how their highs seem too high, and their lows too low. Steve over at The Eddie Kranepool Society suffers through this affliction himself -- he admits it -- and he does his best to explain it in a post this morning.

Working out on Long Island (ugh, I know), a guy comes out of his office once Rollins came into the game with 2 outs in the 9th. He had to walk away from the TV in his office (yes, we have them).

"I can't watch Wagner give up a two run homer here"

Gotta love Mets fans.

He was actually surprised when Wagner got him out.

Two minutes later, a friend in NYC emails me "Mets are in first, sucka".

I'm glad to see that Steve has not only the temperament, but also the English composition skills of the typical Mets fan.
