First the Brewers bring back Dale Sveum as manager-in-waiting, and now Willie Randolph joins the party:

The Milwaukee Brewers hired former New York Mets manager Willie Randolph as bench coach on Saturday . . .

. . . "We are very pleased to add Willie to the organization as he brings recent National League expertise and success to our coaching staff," general manager Doug Melvin said. "His reputation as a player is a quality that will be valuable in his teaching and coaching of our talented young team. Willie is a professional both on and off the field."

To review the bidding, Ken Macha was hired by a team that, despite the loss of their two best pitchers, will probably be expected to do big things next year, was given a shorter than usual contract, and now he has been given two coaches who probably still think they should be managers.

Looks like it will be nothin' but smooth sailing in Milwaukee next season!
