"What happened to me this year will not happen again . . . I had never failedIn case you're inclined not to believe that, please know that this is a Furman Bisher column, and Furman Bisher tells it like it is. He even makes a point to note that Francoeur had "a steely glint in his eyes" and "a voice firm and gritty" when he made the promises.
like I did this year. I’ve always succeeded in what I did. I’ve never known what
it is to fail. This will not happen again, I promise.”
Next up: Terence Moore will suggest offering Francoeur straight up for Corey Patterson.

I wrote about this a little bit ago, and I think he will come back. Not necessarily because he says so (although it's good to hear he's determined), but it's within reason that he could to return to 2006 and 2007 form. He hit .286/.333/.418 in September, which isn't great but shows he still has talent. I don't think you can just go from being good to terrible. As for those who say the league has figured him out, where have the scouting reports been the past few years? It's not like he's changed all that much. Actually, in some ways he still improved this year (walk and strikeout rate).
