Abandon All Hope Ye in Pinstripes

Joba is on his way to see the Angel of Death, er, I mean Dr. James Andrews:
The road from the Carl Pavano Memorial MRI tube to Dr. James Andrews isn't a path a pitcher wants to travel.

Yet, at the Yankees request, that is the one being taken by Joba Chamberlain, who will have his talented and bothersome right arm examined Wednesday by the noted orthopedic surgeon.

As commenter Kelly put last week in reference to Tim Hudson, "The question I have is: Has anyone ever gone to see Dr. James Andrews and had him say, "No, you don't need surgery"?

I'm pretty sure the answer to that is no.

Very weird situation considering the Yanks have been saying it's Joba's shoulder, not elbow that is bothering him.

I think he also recommended rehab initially for Jorge Posada and Shaun Marcum this year.

He's probably a nice guy though.
