Great Moments in Backtracking

Remember that umpire/sex offender from Connecticut who was getting a lifetime achievement award?

Not so much.

Nice... it not's everyday that "logic and reason" get the W.

Didn't logic and reason already take a hit from the initial decision to give him the award in the first place? I think this is logic and reason staggering towards a tie, at best.

I don't know which is worse for an umpires group: honoring a pedophile or reversing their decision?

Yeah, this decision was reactionary.

Boardmember 1: Whoa guys - you remember that time we gave that pedophile an award for umpiring Little League?
BM 2: Yeah?
BM 1: Apparently, the press thinks it's a bit inconsistent and we're getting heat for it.
BM 2: No way! He touched the community though!
(Drummer in background hits a rimshot)
BM 1: It doesn't make sense to me either, but we better take back the award before people realize we're idiots.
