Angell's a fabulous writer, although I prefer his articles on old New York than his by-now romanticism of baseball players as "gladiators" and "warriors." My bet is that Marchman, although richly deserving of New Yorker real estate, will, when the time comes, get pushed aside for someone with connections at The New Yorker.

Marchman replacing Roger Angell at the New Yorker is a wonderful idea. And I'm a huge Angell fan.
Can we start a petition to make it happen?
