My love of both the Braves and baseball history -- especially the dubious kind -- means that I should like almost everything about the Mets' collapse, crash, and burn. But I can't take any joy in it given that Tom Glavine -- one of my two or three favorites to ever play the game --
was the goat in yesterday's denouement. Even after all of these years I still think of him as a Brave, and despite my general dislike of all things Met, I root for him every time out.
Tom -- if they burn you in effigy in Flushing, you're more than welcome back in Atlanta next season.
