A Waste of Time and Money

The whole metal bat vs. wood bat battle currently occupying valuable docket space in New York constitutes an interesting debate taking place in an inappropriate forum. Yes I, like anyone else who has spent a half hour in law school, am fully aware that the ban on metal bats is -- like most day-to-day acts of government -- subject to the rational basis test. It just strikes me, however, that no one ever tends to care about the rationality of government action which helps their cause as opposed to hurting it.
