Based on his column this morning, Joseph A. Reaves at the Arizona Republic is either an unusually hard worker for a mainstream baseball columnist or else he has a dedicated intern this summer. Inspired by Barry Bonds' impending hometown appearance in this year's All Star game, Reaves (or his his intern) went back and unearthed some of the best and worst all time performances by hometown players in the history of the game. Fun stuff. He uses tables and everything.
Unfortunately for Reaves, the National Sports Columnist's Union just voted to blackball him for basing his opinions upon the data rather than the other way around.
