If this second-half success continues for Hudson, names like Tom Glavine, John Smoltz, and Greg Maddux will come up in comparison. All of them won Cy Youngs as Braves over the last 15 seasons.
Possible, I suppose, but I can't see how voters can look to Hudson while Peavy and Webb keep pace with Hudson in the wins column while sporting lower ERAs and while pitching for better teams in a tighter pennant race. Brad Penny is pitching better too, although the Dodgers' swoon may hurt his chances. And that's not even considering that Chris Young may be pitching better than all of them even if he doesn't have the wins to show for it.
